Changes to the HCSB translation

The Christian Insight blog is offering a series of posts comparing the original HCSB translation with its latest incarnation. The relevant posts for Galatians can be found as follows:

Galatians 1
Galatians 2
Galatians 3
Galatians 4
Galatians 5
Galatians 6

The changes are not major and mostly consist of a few words here and there. Take a look at the following example from 3:19.

Original version:
19 Why the law then? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come. The law was ordered through angels by means of a mediator.

New version:
19 Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come. The law was put into effect through angels by means of a mediator.

I think the revision makes the original intention clearer and is more understandable to English readers. They have also maintained an interpretive distance leaving the indentity of the mediator for the reader to discover rather than inserting the name Moses as some translations have done.
